On the morning of 18th December, Soochow University Business School successfully held an on-site meeting of AAPEQ Quality Accreditation Advisory Group of the National Teaching Committee for Master of Accountancy, which aimed to further promote the educational quality improvement of the Master of Accountancy degree programme. The meeting specially invited experts from the Accreditation Advisory Group - Professor Xia Lijun, member of the National Teaching Committee of Master of Accountancy and professor of Shanghai Jiaotong University, Professor Zeng Qingsheng, vice dean of the School of Accountancy of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Yang Xiaolan, secretary of MPAcc teaching affairs of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, to attend the meeting. Feng Bo, Dean of the School of Business, Zhou Zhongsheng, Vice Dean of the School of Business, Luo Zhengying, Advisor of the MPAcc Centre, as well as relevant leaders of the School and representatives of the teachers attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Wang Youyu, vice dean of Business School.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Feng Bo firstly expressed his warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the consultants and experts, pointing out that this MPAcc quality certification is of great significance for promoting the development of accounting discipline in the university, and briefly introduced the overall construction of MPAcc project to the experts.

Professor Xia Lijun expressed his gratitude to Soochow University and highly praised the importance Soochow University attaches to the Master of Accountancy programme and the remarkable achievements of the Business School in the cultivation of Master of Accountancy talents, the integration of industry and education, and the achievements of students.

Mr Zhou Zhongsheng, Vice Dean of the School of Business, introduced the development strategy of MPAcc programme, school conditions, faculty, enrollment, teaching arrangements, management system and other aspects, and reported on the preparatory work of the School for the quality certification of MPAcc, as well as the cultivation characteristics and advantages of the MPAcc programme of the School of Business.

In the communication and interaction session, the participating teachers put forward the main questions in the preparation for the accreditation to the experts of the consultant group in detail against the content of the index system of MPAcc quality accreditation, consulted and understood the difficulties and details of AAPEQ accreditation, and the experts counselled them one by one and gave them detailed opinions and suggestions. Professor Xia Lijun put forward guidance for the development strategy of MPAcc schooling, schooling system, etc., stressing that the development of professional degree education in accounting should be well designed at the top level, focusing on the development of project characteristics, highlighting the advantages of SUU, condensing the characteristics of SUU, and building the brand of SUU; Professor Zeng Qingsheng gave a series of improvement solutions to the problems arising from the cultivation process of the faculty, teaching arrangements, etc. and provided guidance for the specific work. The guidance was given.

The accreditation counselling made the college have a clearer and deeper understanding of the talent cultivation goal, cultivation characteristics and specific implementation path of MPAcc programme towards high-quality development. Finally, Vice President Wang Youyu expressed his sincere thanks to the guidance of the accreditation consultant team and made a concluding speech. The college will take this quality certification work as an opportunity to continuously promote the educational reform of MPAcc programme and continuously improve the quality of talent cultivation of Master of Accountancy.
