In order to further improve the construction level of degree authorisation points of Soochow University Business School and enhance the quality of talent cultivation, the School held an expert assessment meeting of degree authorisation points on October 13, 2024 online. The evaluation invited five university experts, including Professor He Dexu, President of the Institute of Financial and Strategic Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Professor Zheng Jianghuai, Dean of the School of Economics of Nanjing University, Professor Zhang Jinqing, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Executive Vice President of the Institute of Financial Studies of Fudan University, Professor Wu Wenfeng, Director of the Division of Liberal Arts and Professor of Antai College of Economics and Management of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Professor Zheng Chaoyu, Professor of the School of Applied Economics of Renmin University of China, as well as four industry experts to assess the quality of Five experts from universities and four experts from the industry commented on the construction of doctoral degree authorisation point of the first-level discipline of Applied Economics and the authorisation point of professional degree of Master of Finance in our college. The meeting was presided over by Professor He Dexu, and Xu Tao, vice dean of Soochow University Business School, Zhou Jun, assistant dean, and Liu Qinqing, secretary of the Steering Committee of Postgraduate Education for Financial Degrees, also attended the meeting.
Vice Dean Xu Tao expressed his warm welcome and sincere thanks to the evaluation experts attending the meeting, and briefly introduced the development of the School in recent years to the experts, explained the requirements for the evaluation of degree authorisation points, and also hoped that the experts would give valuable opinions on the cultivation of talents of the School and provide support and help for the construction of disciplines.
On behalf of the authorization points of doctoral degree in applied economics and master's degree in finance, two teachers, Zhou Jun and Liu Qinqing, made an overall report on the cultivation objectives, cultivation programs, teaching staff and scientific research to the expert group.
After listening to the self-assessment report and reviewing the Summary Report on Self-Assessment of Degree Authorisation Points and the supporting materials, the expert group unanimously agreed that the cyclic assessment of the authorisation points for doctoral degree in Applied Economics and master's degree in Finance of Soochow University Business School has reached the qualified level. Meanwhile, the expert group also put forward many constructive comments and suggestions for the future development of the two disciplines, hoping that the College will highlight the regional characteristics of the disciplines and strengthen the research on science and technology finance and digital finance.
Finally, on behalf of the college, Vice President Xu Tao thanked the experts again for their care and support, and the college will comprehensively sort out the experts' suggestions, continuously improve the construction of degree authorisation points, and make every effort to enhance the quality of postgraduate training.
